I use this as my final step before leaving in the morning, and my skin locks in moisture all day. I live in Ottawa so the weather definitely put it to the test. It’s very oily, which for my skin works really well. It leaves my complexion dewy which I love because I don’t wear any foundation. I have gotten a lot of compliments about my skin since using it and I always tell people about this primer! I agree that the packaging design could change as it is difficult to properly shut and therefore travel with. Overall, love it. I will be buying again.

Although I do love them all, MaxGlow Serum + Primer is still my favorite. As the name suggests, this is a multitastic wonder product. As a serum, it's quick to absorb, and reboots my dull skin tone by hydrating and giving it a wonderful glow. As a primer, it works perfectly by filling in lines and imperfections giving my skin a smooth, soft, and polished surface for the next step in my morning facial regimen; makeup.

It creates a smooth canvas for my foundation and leaves my skin feeling so soft. I always wait about 2-3 minutes before I apply my makeup to give the product time to fully absorb and settle. A lot of reviews on here complain about wasted product after shaking and opening but honestly that’s due to their own error. I did this yesterday for the first time in over two weeks and it was because I hadn’t screwed the lid on correctly the day before. My one and only complaint would be that the lid should be grippy and not smooth surfaced, as it can be extremely difficult to open when screwed on properly. 5★

It also made my makeup sit on top of my face and come off on everything and everyone. How can a product be drying and greasy all at once. I usually love Aveeno products.

But I lose product each time I open after 'shaking well' as instructed. Something is wrong there production folks! Other than that, it's a fine product but I can't see myself buying again unless the packaging changes. Hence, 3 stars only.

I have to dump some in my palm and then it runs through fingers. The hole is too small to simply place your finger on and tip. You'd have to do this 10 times to get enough. I won't buy this again unless they change this.

My acne breakouts have lessened and I now can go the day without makeup with my chin held high. The one drawback I experience is spillage of the product when removing the cap. Approximately the same amount of the product that you would use on your face is wasted with each use. Repackaging is greatly needed for such a tremendous product!

I basically break my wrist every morning trying to open it and it gets oil everywhere

  Rated 2 out of 5 by Alysha89 from Bottling ruins the product The product itself works well and does what it says, maybe on the little extra dewy side if you like that but I honestly lost half or more of the product due to how it is bottled...it says to shake before use and then when you open the cap it spews and spills out everywhere, it's honestly a mess! Everytime I open it I lose more then I use which is so beyond disappointing because it's a fairly expensive product and it won't last long because it spills out so much.

I see multiple comments on the packaging and totally agree the lid is so wasteful. will be trying the suggested putting finger over hole instead. My husband uses it sometimes and even likes it!

For those COMPLAINING about the bottle, it’s not the greatest design BUT you can definitely use it so the liquid doesn’t spill or get wasted OPEN CAP. PUT FINGER OVER OPENING, SHAKE. NO mess! I love this product and will continue to use.

After removing the bottle from packaging, I had to shake the bottle a little to incorporate the liquids together. When opening, the product began spilling to the sides. I believe that the spout of the bottle should be different than the existing one. Such as a pump similar to "Espa's Optimal Skin Pro Serum 30". It would be less messy and less wasted product. I'm expected to shake the bottle lightly to incorporate the liquids since they separate, but much of the product spills and becomes messy on my counter or makeup bag. The serum alone is okay, not the best. I do have dry patches on my face due to dermatitis, but not anyone's face is alike mine.

But like the other reviews I have found the packaging to be less than desirable. To use, the instructions state to shake to mix the elements together. However, in doing so the product itself gets captured in the lid and when opened spills all over. I will try one of the reviewers suggestions and simply swirl about vs shaking to reduce the waste which I am sure will help. I usually don't submit reviews but in this case I was hoping that another comment to the topic of packaging would help Aveeno understand the concern of the consumers. And I also agree that the hole at the top is less than desirable, so if considering a new package please address this as well. A pump style would work, but if you do this please make sure you can remove the top easily so when at the bottom you can still get the remaining product out (we all know how fun that is when you can't get off the top and the pump doesn't reach the product). In summary great product but very poorly designed packaging.

My skin is very dry and oily not to mention this doesn't make my face oily at all the next morning. I used it without makeup so far and with makeup im sure it'll work wonders! It says shake the bottle i didnt shake to hard just tilted it back and forth or have any issues with it leaking its a great product along with the face wash glow!

However, due to the horrible one holed opening in order to get the product out, it runs all over the place! You lose more product just trying to put it on your face! I cannot believe Aveeno could not come up with a dispenser to dispense this primer like everyone else. For that reason alone I would never purchase again, it is a waste of my money.

My foundation goes on smoother and my skin feels great. The only problem is the packaging. I waste most of it. Once you shake the bottle, it spills when I open the cap. Please put it in a more user friendly bottle.

However i've lost almost 60% of the product due to the poor design of the bottle. The product calls for a shake to mix up the products, but when you open the bottle you lose half of the product in the cap. I think this product would work best as a pump or a dropper. I want to re-buy, but cannot justify due to the bottle.

Necessary to shake before use and when you take off the top, it runs down the sides and all over my hand. Very wasteful not to mention the cost of $24.00. Do not like the feel once I do salvage what is on my hand to put on my face. I am VERY dissatisfied with this product and I have used Aveeno for many years.

You have to shake the bottle before applying the product and a huge amount always ends up on my counter top. I don’t think it’s worth the daily clean up of an oily product. Not only is the mess an issue, but the waste of money is an issue. I think everyday I waste more product than I use. I use several Aveeno products and this is the first time I’ve been disappointed.

I use serums (retinol and vit c) and I use primer daily and have high expectations. First, product is separated and before using, shake bottle to mix but why couldn't it be a blended consistency when created. It reminds me of oil and vinegar. The product itself is water consistency and feels kind of oily (though it doesn't feel oily applied). Pat it on my face and my face looked glistening and not in a high end illumimating primer sort of way but in a it made my skin look shiny and wet looking but not natural looking. With make up applied over it, you lose the sheen all together and can't tell you are wearing it. I saw no benefits to this, it didn't help my makeup apply better, it didn't grip and extend my foundations life and it didn't give me the flawless blurred canvas I start with before I put my foundation on. The serum didn't seem to make a difference but I didn't use it long enough for it to.

Using a dropper or pump would be much better; even putting a little stopper doie in the cap, that plugs the hole when seated would be nice. I've considered throwing it away because I don't have time to clean the counter and wipe the bottle well before putting it back on my shelf. Hard to believe y'all didn't notice this in tesiting. Poor packaging and quality control.
